Stock and bonds, but what else?  At school, we often times forget the basics of a concept model that make it real, theory.  Why does math equations work?  We assume there are numbers that go on forever and exhibit certain behaviors with each of those maintaining qualities.  So, to understand finance or other fields of interest, sometimes we should consider remembering the assumptions.
